A Trip to Kheer-Ganga

A Trip to Kheer-Ganga

First time I heard about kheerganga was when one of my hostel friends has already visited it.

The Journey

We started from NIT hamirpur at around  10 PM. Took bus to bhuntar. Bus dropped us at 3:30 in the morning. It was so cold there that we went to ATM where it was a little warm. From bhuntar instead of taking bus , we took cab which was a very good decision because we had to wait for 2-3 hours for the bus.
The road is not wide at all . After 2 hours we reached bershaini
The second guy from the left was our cab driver. He guided us a lot about camps and routes.
There are hotels which will give you rooms for recreational purpose for rs50 only.
Food is very nice there. We did breakfast in the same hotel in which we stayed and it was good specially lemon tea and omelette.
After breakfast we started our trekking. Initially it was boring but after half an hour of walking it gets interesting. The path is narrow and fun to walk on. After every km or so you'll get shops to buy food and drinks. You'll find many trekkers. The view keeps on getting better as you go up.
There are two ways to go up and down. First one is through village and other one is through forest. Both paths are interesting in their own ways. The waterfalls , bridges will make your adventure just awesome. Tents are available on rent when you reach the top. Food is also available. Or you can always cook your food just like we did. We borrowed the utensils from the tent owner only. We made fire and cooked maggie.
And don't forget the hot spring. You'll forget everything once you step into that kund. Anyways if you're planning on going to kheerganga then you'll have a hell lot of fun.
